Book Club Radio

A dynamic and energetic new identity for Book Club Radio that embodies the energy and excitement of their pop-up dance club events, seamlessly capturing the vibrancy and spirit of their parties.

Identity, Motion, Typography

Identity Narrative

Founded in 2023 by Brooklyn-based sibling DJ duo Tinzo+Jojo, Book Club Radio has grown from a casual group chat and house party into a vibrant pop-up dance club. Hosting events in venues ranging from nightclubs to basements, they create unforgettable, phone-free experiences that encourage connection and living in the moment.

Recap mixes shared on YouTube and Instagram turn their parties into cinematic showcases, extending the vibe beyond the dance floor. The brand identity captures the raw, authentic energy of their events, blending spontaneity with a polished aesthetic. A motion montage highlights their dynamic spirit, reflecting the evolution of Book Club Radio as both an event and a brand.

Motion Montage

A key aspect of this identity was creating a montage that offers a glimpse into the world of Book Club Radio and its future evolution. Book Club Radio embodies an energetic, almost hyperactive identity while intentionally steering away from the typical “clubby” aesthetic.

I transformed it into a lifestyle brand, a concept reflected in the montage. By extending the brand’s typography, graphic elements, interface design, social media presence, and video footage, the montage captures not only the unique atmosphere of Book Club Radio but also the diverse audience it resonates with.

Logo Design

When designing the logo, I initially explored a bold typographic and geometric approach but ultimately chose a tightly kerned, tilted logotype to reflect the packed, high-energy atmosphere of their events. The close spacing mirrors the feeling of people coming together in intimate, crowded spaces, aligning with the brand's core narrative of connection and vibrancy.

The Book Club Radio logo comes in two formats: a full-word version for larger applications and a stacked version for smaller spaces where the full logo may not fit. This flexibility ensures the logo remains impactful across all uses while staying true to the brand’s identity.

Collateral

I expanded their brand into a wide range of collateral tailored to their needs, including social media assets, event signage, mediatecture, posters, admission bands, cassette designs, and additional motion graphics. These extensive deliverables are designed to support the brand's current identity while adapting to its evolution over time.

Each piece was crafted to reflect the energy and vibrancy of Book Club Radio’s events, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints. This cohesive approach positions the brand to grow while maintaining its unique and dynamic character. The project is a celebration of Book Club Radio’s culture, transforming their vision into a fully realized, adaptable brand experience.
